To those in the big cities, how easy is it to make a living and enjoy your hobbies? Is it safe? Do you get back what you put into taxes?

We only have one, but our Internal Revenue Service is a 10 and will respect your money.

a fucking 30m2 apartment is 70k USD in my city, and the vast majority (probably more than 70%) of the people make less than 600 USD a month. I will never own a house.

I don't know, man. I have no reference. I was born and raised in São Paulo, so I'm used to all its shitness.
Do I enjoy living here and am I happy? Yes.
Would I recommend anyone move here? Most likely not.

Forgot crime, we brazilians pay as much taxes as first world countries while having considerably worse quality of life. If you wanna retire, go to Uruguay or something.

My Chilean boss gave me the impression that Chile takes social support seriously which I appreciate. I am sure life in Antofagasta is slower but how are the amenities?

TV vidya and coffee sounds fun
>No, if i go to a favela i think i will be killed anytime
if I buy or rent a spot in some ghetto affordable place here, I always have to deal with uninformed voters in the area and what they do varies from damaging my shit to pulling guns on me. The cops don't do anything. I know it's violent out there but the situation being openly extreme is preferable to the lazy pigs and useless city leaders we have here.
