It's always funny watching these bugs copy humans and adopt human cultural practices but they always do it in a very off way because they never understood or felt the desires that created said cultural practices and are merely mimicking them to gain social points. She has a cat because everyone has a cat and it's "the thing" but she doesn't get that it's there for company and as a friend. To these robotic bugs, it's a condition you need to be in the norm, and the rest is secondary.

Not OP but you're right. I realized this when I lived in Japan. They take American "fashioning" of things to a worse degree. For example an American may wear a Che Guevara shirt because of fashion but he'll at least will say "capitalism le bad, Guevara cool, therefore I wear it" even if he doesn't understands shit about it or if he only wears it for fashion

Japanese will wear the Che's shirt, dress like metalheads, wear miniskirts with a sign saying "fuck me" in the back, etc and they won't understand even why. "It's cool", "I must wear it because everybody does", and then keep with their daily slave routine. It's funny to see Japanese metal banda acting so hard on stage only for them to bow down and say "oooh arigato gochaimachu" to the public like any other corporate drone

It's abrupt, but the idea is there. Asians copying trends from somewhere else without understand what it means, like at all. You can hate blacks, but at least they follow the things THEY like, they don't fake it. Too often do east asians just adopt completely foreign cultural practices to appear as something they're not and gain social points. One could understandly say that "everyone does that", but the critical difference is the proportion of people who do it in a specific race.
