I miss old internet.
I miss when we would build our own social group in every corner of the internet, before everything got centralised around Meta and Google.

Do you miss old internet too?

It's not even about the game itself, it was about the community around it.

I had more genuine friendships on internet back then than in real life.

Now everything on internet is artificial, everyone only wants to be as rude as possible to gain more likes

There's an old fighting game with a cult following that I still play partly because it still manages to hold on to old internet culture, the forums for it are still active even. Only other game I can think of like it is Blockland, and that game is long gone.

Yes, but given your country and likely age I don't think we're talking about the same internet.

probably they don't remember the joy of downloading shit at 4kb/s or old websites

for me the "old internet" is the second half of the 90s, and it was already full of people.
FIDONET and USENET users in the 80s could consider that too as too "centralized" around the http protocol

yes
it was less normie-friendly and people online were generally nicer and more naive
or maybe I just turned around the wrong side of the web

I miss the early 2000s when all the first world was finally connected together, but third world negro trash still didn't have internet access yet. Non-whites also ruined online gaming, they're the most notorious cheaters I've ever seen. I remember playing CoD2 back in 5th grade and each time someone with a name like 虎歸類為瀕危動 joined a server they instantly started using aimbots and ruined the game for everyone. And for some reason they all thought it was funny as fuck and bragged about it in Chinglish.
