The areas where we could genuinely build new cities are the northern rivers region of NSW (the whole region from the sunny coast to coffs is probably the best land in Australia), Margaret river in WA and Cairns (due to the tablelands). All fertile and get enough water (often too much)
>>211751614The Australian beaucracy, as much as people complain about it, is remarkably efficient for a public service. It's why Australians tend to still have high trust in government, stuff does get delivered.
The major cities are genuinely cleaner, nicer and well run than anywhere else I've visited in the western world and the region are well maintained given how sparse they are.
The only real problem we have is housing due to a combination of immigration (both too much and a lack of trades), stupid housing investment incentives and NIMBYs.
