The feminism argument just doesn't track to me. Most breeding in the modern day is still motivated by women, they're the ones who push to have kids, if the conditions for them are even realistic. Which in the modern first world they simply aren't anymore. They've stressed the populous beyond function in the interest of profit and the result is a generational squeeze which will result in cluster recessions that will only compound in a feedback loop and the result will be mass poverty and starvation, more importantly no pensions. No country under replacement can ever support an outsized retiree population. One retiree costs the government the labor of 3 working age adults, that means the math was only ever going to work if humanity kept ballooning in size. It was never sustainable.
