Think about it logically. Do you need to be high IQ in the modern world? No. You can just outsource the thinking to a specialized race like the Jews. Do you need to be physically fit in the modern world? No. You don't need to move around anymore we have cars and mobility scooters. You won't die of any medical conditions we have modern medicine.
But what do you need to watch out for? Bullets. And what better way to survive a shooting than to have so much fat that it stops the bullet before hitting any important organs. It's like wearing a permanent bullet-proof vest.
