I'm attracted to the idea of being a father, but when I think about the sheer amount of responsibility that comes with raising a child I don't think I could do it. Those responsibilities I can imagine are probably only like 20% of what a parent has to do, in reality there's way more stuff I don't even know about.

It's the same thing with having a girlfriend. Obviously I want sex and I like the idea of having someone else in my life, but am I really capable of dealing with all the extra responsibilities of being in a relationship? Am I capable of compromise and giving adequate attention to a woman and keeping her entertained and finding activities for us to do? Honestly, probably not.

We're biologically built to raise children. People always overestimate the difficulties of raising one. Yes, it's not gonna be easy, but you'll adapt. People (including you) are more resilient than they think, you might not think you're prepared, but you actually are so long as you're not mentally ill or an addicted.

You're anecdotal "counterexample" isn't a legitimate example as having children is considered normalcy. It's 100 percent biological for us to want to have children and if you don't want them then you're either young or malfunctioned. So which one is it are you young or a bitter old fuck?

Laws involve universal quantifiers.
>all objects in constant motion remain in said motion unless subjected to external forces
That’s a law
>all biological beings want children
>some don’t, but they’re outliers
That’s a no-true-Scotsman fallacy

We're perfectly curated to creating life, that's our purpose, to reproduce. Without reproducing our species dies so yes going against our biological purpose makes you to be an outlier.

Your statement fails at a basic counterexample. Not just me. Tons of people in history did not care too much about siring children. So you can yap all you want, your proposition needs a single counterexample to fail.

Where is the fault in my argument? Our existence depends on people reproducing, if you don't reproduce then you're going against our existence thus an outlier, malfunctioned.
>Tons of people in history did not care too much about siring children
And billions more people decided to have children. This isn't an argument as the people who decide to have children is far greater than those that decide not to.

I know what you're saying, but your argument is depended on using a terminology that you don't even know how to probably use. My argument isn't a no true Scotsman, our existence depends on reproducing, it's why we have biological urges to reproduce. There isn't a counter argument against that, this is a fact and if you're against this then you're going against our biological order which literally makes you an outlier.

You “defend” your argument when presented with a counterexample by discarding counterexample. This isn’t even sophistry, this is just dumb.

What counter example did you present other than throwing around examples to a phrase that has no use in this conversation?
>And it was the norm for men to wear wigs and stockings. So?
Reproducing is larger than just a social norm, it's biological. Where are you even trying to go with this?
