We were never going to take Greenland, but Danish parliament quietly passed into law a few days ago that allows US military complete access to Danish soil now with expansion of military bases. As for Canada, Carney is low key brining Canada back to the middle & doing the opposite of what he said he was going to do during his campaign. Expanding Canadian resource extraction is good for America & Canada. Carney also knows they have a China problem, & Trudeau was too timid to confront that & was stuckt. alberta is entirely to blame for misuse of their oil resources and profits
they could have had a system like norway but it was more important to the UCP to use oil money to make up for tax cuts for billionaires
and the reason they don't get equalization payments is, again, because they don't collect nearly as much tax revenue as they could, and so it wouldn't be fair to expect the fed to make up for it
