Before the 20th century, all Norwegians used to have names like Hieronymus Aschehoug, Christian Schweigaard, Edvard Grieg/Munch and Baltzar Beck, before everyone started adopting names like "Leif", "Harald", "Olav", "Vetle", "Håkon", "Einar", "Ingrid" and "Vigdis" to LARP as Vikings

The majority of Norse names in modern Norway are LARP names. Your list is just bastardised names of saints besides Knut and Bjørn

these names are from the era of Latinate snobbery, when Latin was the European lingua franca and language of science

1600s-1700s uni educated Danes would rename
Kjær -> Paludan
Smed/Schmidt -> Faber/Fabricius
Kolding -> Collin
Broby -> Pontoppidan
etc..

We even have 1700s comedy poking fun of the trend (Ludvid Holberg's Erasmus Montanus)
