Learning French and German( a little bit of Italian too) but the hardest thing to go through is how absolutely boring these guys and their media outputs are compared to Americans and Asians. Just some really old irrelevant books and historical documentaries about killing each other over religion. That’s really all you got? What do you guys even do aside from watching football? A lot of other Japanese are complaining about this too. Just a cultural snooze fest where you are supposed to have no ambitions and playfulness and die. Depressing.

What are you even on about, cinema wise you can check the great classics of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s. With books you have most of the greatest authors and philosophers in mankind history to choose from. With video games you have the first assassins creeds, the witcher saga, kingdom come deliverance, and so on. Humour wise every country has its own, it's not a big homogeneous place like the US. What are you even on about? Unless you want stupid entertainment like marvel movies or stupid adult swim cartoons, idk what you pretend.
You tell me some good japanese content instead to pick from youtube. I cant find good japanese youtube channels that talk about interesting stuff, it's all about consumerism and vloggin, i'd like to watch channels that talk about current world events, history, science or finance. I've only managed to find a nice channel that talks about history 教養としての世界史ch and then サッカーキング for football. Give me some names
