Specifically Rakssætra, near Loen in western Norway. The cruise ships are docked in nearby Olden, and buses take tourists pretty deep up the valley in the background along the lake, ending up at the Briksdalsbreen glacier.

To the left (out of frame) is a gondola that takes people from the shoreline (literally) to the mountains in 5 minutes (Loen Skylift). The top station is a popular base jumping site, which unfortunately has had its share of deadly accidents. Wingsuits, speedgliders etc can be observed almost daily. Tom Cruise has jumped it.

I have family in the area pictured and live in the region not too far away. Summers are pretty good. Winters are cold and deprived of sunlight.

Tell me about it. This place used to be a secluded spot with small cabins a short walk from the main road, that only locals knew about for the most part.

Then pics like op's exploded all over social media and now the narrow trail has turned into a veritable pedestrian highway and it's packed with instathots all summer long.

Like.... go somewhere else and get pics of unique shit, instead of doing what everyone else is doing (my $.02).

These fucking salmon farms are killing our fjords man. Each farm produces waste at a rate equalling a pretty big city. They use hydrogen peroxide to kill salmon lice, which also incidentally kills most shellfish (shrimps, crayfish, crabs etc) for miles around the farms and bleaches the beaches. Fish species that feed on shellfish, such as cod, are nearly extinct in our area now. Used to be an abundance of cod here, now we hardly ever catch any.

Wild salmon has orange-pink-ish meat. Farmed salmon on the other hand has white meat, which is then dyed by adding colouring to the fish food pellets in the last part of its stay in the fish farm. Yes, they are colouring the fucking meat. Then it's landed, fileted, trucked to Oslo airport overnight and flown to Japan and other places halfway around the world by plane. Still they claim the industry is "sustainable". Go figure.
