Because people of different races don't know what a "good looking" person of another race looks like. In fact, people will gravitate toward the stereotype of that race. The Hispanics here always make fun of white and black dudes that go after the most mid latinas imaginable. Also the ugly women of each race seem to always hate the men of their own race so are more welcoming to outsiders (probably because of the fact mentioned before where outsiders can't tell what is attractive or ugly in another race).
