Florida is its own thing. It had a huge Indian population back before the War of Northern Aggression, but not anymore. It was part of Dixie, but now it's too different from Alabama/Georgia/Mississipi. It's certainly nothing like Spain. Miami and thereabouts is basically another part of Latin America (especially the three Caribbean countries). Orlando is a bit different. Florida also has huge swathes of residential areas inhabited by rich pensioners (New Englanders, Jews, Canadians, etc).
