NYC is the only good city in America. Every other city is a non-walkable hellhole

All the other "cities" popped up in states that focused on bringing in families eager to buy into the "american dream" of a white picket fence, an oversized home, and a driveway with a car. The cities did not plan to support a larger urban population, so if they want to match New York's density now, they will have to totally restructure their entire layout. Which will not happen
CA state legislature put laws that protected their property from being overtaxed so many people flocked in over the years.
Now cities there are paying for it dearly. in SF bay area, the region is mostly single family homes. There is no more space to build density.
The next big city will be Seattle and perhaps Portland because their states have put in laws that would prevent NIMBY trenches. Los Angeles lost. San Francisco lost.

My plan is to go for residency or as my first attending job. Find a cute art hoe wifey and then make the decision to either stay in the city/NJ or go live in some random part of Minnesota to stack paper, build a family, and return.

But I steeled myself in my sheer heterosexual confidence to move forward

Why did being able to walk across town become a political culture thing for rightoids to spout off about? I don't get it. Prior to the automobile all cities were "walkable" that's just normal.

Automobile companies brainwashed middle America into giving them money by tying big impractical $80k trucks with shit gas mileage to fundamental masculinity + marketed SUVs to their wives for the same reason but with the veneer of being perfect for the family
So you get Greg from suburban Des Moines driving a 4 ton financial liability where he uses the bed maybe twice a year and his wife drives a Grand Cherokee that will never go off pavement. They are forced to drive, yet they consider driving these specific things and their specific life circumstances their "culture" and will fight on the Internet to preserve it
