I was fascinated with the dance scenes of this movie for many years. I finally watched the movie last year and I was so disappointed. It's just boring drama with lame sluggish romance between basically a boy in puberty and a jaded old grandma.
Also the whole side story with his friends was slow too.

Also this movie is partly based on a journalist's popular "investigation" about disco's club culture (basically a lot of drugs and sex). That journalist later admitted that a lot of the stories were made up or exaggerated to get attention.
