fun fact, according to linguists, before the Hungarian invasion Czech language exhibited more South Slavic traits and it only became more similar to Polish when it was cut off from South Slavs by Hungarians. So if not for Hungarians, there could be one big linguistic continuum, maybe even one language, all the way from Czechia to Serbia. Probably South Slavic languages would be also generally more similar to Polish as well.
