I don't know if humidity is the only reason though, people always throw that word out without understanding. It's definitely warm here though, I know people from the Middle East who complain about the temperature here for the last few days.

Humidity makes all the difference. It just rained here and even though 5 degrees lower than yesterday it feels unbearable.
I've been to the middle east where it was 40 degrees (that's 105 in f) and it was more tolerable than humid days here.

I don't know how people get such different experiences with portable ACs.
If I set mine to as low as it can go I will legitimately freeze to death and all I have for insulation is that shitty canvas window cover. I also have to have another window open in some other room otherwise the AC starts pulling air through the ventilation shaft and I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

It cools the room exactly the same even when pulling air through the ventilation shaft, though it did make me a bity dizzy when I tried it for the first time, I assume it's because it lowered air pressure in the room and that can be mitigated somewhat by leaving the doors to my room open.
Just one. It wouldn't be a problem otherwise because a 2 hose one doesn't pull air at all, whatever is thrown outside is replaced throught he other pipe.
