>>211983526romantishit isn't good music in general, and russian "classical" music is almost all romantishit. overly sentimental, melodramatic/tearjerking and brash (russian lit and cinema suffers from the same illness, so in general russian culture is of no interest to me, unless it's in the vein of "slum tourism" like the Brat movie, it's cool to watch russians suffer and live in squalor)
rachmaninoff is the worst offender
music from this period can be good tho.
there's a Polish neo-romantic composer who died prematurely in an avalanche in the Tatra Mountains, he was part of the Zakopane scene and featured virtuoso violin work in his music that was inspired by Góral music. that I like very, very much (high quality violin compositions)
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbOi7C5dXmkyou see, this isn't primitive music. russian culture, russian people are very primitive & naive, i've found. like any third worlders, like brazilians or indians, you're easily impressionable and you have the memory of a goldfish and everything is always "new" to you which is how your rulers manage the cattle herd (bydło) that you are with such ease despite being so brutal any civilized people would've long ago rebelled and established a civilized government and society
