Whether we like it or not, humans are not rational actors. Most males would instinctively choose to rule over a small patch of putrid wasteland instead of "only" being well-off in a utopia, it's an artifact of their fitness objective. A small but significant number of women, the conservative kind, are what can be described as "male-brained". This had been remarked upon by 20th century radical feminists, who pointed out that "feminine and submissive" women, whose role is to be the "opposite" of males, paradoxically tend to have male mentality. It is not the short haired lesbian with a math PhD or the FTM troon that has a "male brain", it's someone like Lauren Southern. They are deficient halves of a whole, both by nature and by choice.
The male-brained conservative woman naturally harbors this king of the rubble mentality. The female variant of it includes malignant martyrdom, savior complex, fantasies about behaving antisocially via male proxy and, of course, wanting to be the specialest of all girls by default rather than being one of many competent women in a free society - a mindset that self-selects for shocking mediocrity. Just as it is with males, the unfortunate female malebrain is consumed with jealousy and competition, to the point of ignoring self preservation, so placing herself in a market where other evil jezebels "poaching" her male carries a promise of punishment seems like a good deal.
She wants to be the favorite concubine in a harem of slaves, not a respected free citizen. Because she is by definition stupid, she takes all the "promises" of shithole patriarchies at face value, even though she has zero recourse if they're broken. She realizes that her role is to be governed, not protected, when it's too late - perhaps never.
