the moral issue with old colonies was the forced and coerced labor, combined the selective treatment that colonists receive compared to the natives of the colonies.
nowadays colonists and natives alike are legally equal, and most of the moral objections have been addressed, the last question is whether the people themselves want to rule themselves, or continue under the leadership of their former subjugators.
