I lived in germany for a while. I can confirm that it is in fact an excellent place to live. It's the most aesthetic major country on the entire planet. Towns and cities are genuinely beautiful with a medieval feel. Cost of living is low. Quality of food is high. Crime is very low. Streets are very clean. They have good beer and artisan bread that are so cheap that they're practically a free public service. The median wages are also actually higher than in the US
The language is exceptionally easy to learn. There are lots of cognates and the word order is quite close. (E.g 'die Nacht ist jung' = 'the night is young'). And if you're white and introverted you'll fit right in. People just assumed I was German from looking at me when I lived there.
If you want to learn the language just make sure to use effective methods instead of duolingo or shitty textbooks
>reading with click-to-translate to rapidly look up words
>watching videos with the transcript up in a separate window so you can look up words
>play RPGs that you've already played in english before but set the language to german
