Do people go to shopping malls in your country? Here, they used to a lot in the late 20th century and 2000s, and even early 2010s. Mall culture has declined since then and many of them have closed down

No offense but Americans have really shitty boomer malls that haven't evolved at all to be more scenic hangout spots. The lighting is too bright and uniform, no sense of mood or variety that distinguishes the different sections. Also you have to go out of your way to drive there whereas malls here are all along popular travel routes.
We recently hosted this zoomer from South Dakota and she said strip malls have basically replaced most regular malls in America.
they're mostly out of fashion now afaik. most people prefer to go to this kind of development.
>>212028616yeah we have a lot of these outdoor shopping centers too
>>212028601those are insane
>>212028601strip malls look really depressing
>>212028601>>212028616Both of these developments are way better in function and form than whatever Americans can come up with in their own dang countries these days.

>>212028670It's not like Americans don't have access to good architects, I don't know why their malls have to look so boring and uninspired.
>>212028850>>212028601>>212028670We have some nice outdoor malls, this is one in Carmel, California.
I prefer integrated, walkable commerce.
Malls in America have become open roof like
>>212028885Indoor malls are like black ghettos.
>>212028885That one looks alright, a bit small-scale but a step in the right direction I guess. Too many of them look like a reddit liminal space horror meme though.
In my shitty city, malls are coming into fashion now.
My local mall is on its last legs. I go just to walk around and people watch. A store closes about every other month. It's kind of sad because you'll see shop owners standing at the entrance to their stores that are empty just watching people walk by.
>>212029043You should go there with your gf/fuck buddy when you know it's just weeks or so from shuttering and find different areas to fuck like hobos. I imagine that's at least one unique thrill to be had in a dying mall.
