Outside of city centers, bikes are more often the province of obsessive weirdos. Whatever traffic conflicts plague our streets, they’re more often between bicyclists and drivers than between cyclists and pedestrians. People riding their bikes where they shouldn’t (sidewalks, etc.) are subjected to harassment from the public and fines from cops. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a pedestrian-cyclist collision, but I’m sure they happen sometimes. And I know bikes get smashed by cars or trams once in a while.
