>your family eat dinner
in Nordics, unlike in the third world, people dont live with their parents when they are 30 years old
so this kind of case might only happen when they are children, mostly young and kids at that age might indeed prefer to eat with their parents unless there was sometype of prior agreement. The parents are waiting for the kid to come home most likely.

if this ever happened to me when I was a child, it usually happened because I had already eaten and came at friends place who were still eating. Or we would be outside and we would split and go eat and come back.

There is actually a reason for this, in the 70s the VAT on food was so high that in the average family, about 25-30% of the househoulds income went to food expenses.

This issue was later adressed by the prime minister himself after a series of protests like the one in picrel

>Nordics are spoiled babies who get free apartments from the gubmint
Not since around 2008-2009 when the housing crisis hit us.
Government apartments all went to the immigrants instead.
Today the housing queue in Sweden is around 4-6 years depending on the city and in Stockholm it can be as bad as 20 years in the better areas.
Even if you can live on bux and have your rent paid, it's ultimately up to you yourself to find a place to rent.
And that is made even harder considering most major landlords having "stable income" as a basic requirement for renting so the basic unemployment bux is not valid.
That leaves perhaps 2-3 landlords in the entire country who might have a few hundred apartments in the major cities as the only option which only further complicates things when you need a place.

https://swedenandme.com/2021/10/21/sweden-and-housing-queues/

https://fee.org/articles/why-many-in-sweden-have-to-wait-a-decade-or-longer-to-land-an-apartment/

Basically the only reliable way to find a place is to either buy one or pay premium for a short queue landlord who charges extra for it. Not something NEETs can do.

its pretty clear that you view us based on your own personal family experience and it just sound sad, your so called family unit is only held together by you living under the same roof ruled by the same patriarch. we manage to keep our family together just fine even if we are spread out. speaking of it, when you work together it means doing whatever benefits the patriarch, economicly or in terms of status and honor. he doesnt really care about your well being or the others, only his own reputation. you will find out this when you come out as gay, that seems to be the real test of how strong a family is.

The main reason we move out so early here isn't because we hate our family or anything. It's because of education.
Most universities are located in select "student cities" and towns. Most people don't live near enough to commute. So moving out at 17-18 and getting a student flat or room is our only option if we want to get educated.
And once you're done with your education, people rarely move back home since live has moved on. People make new friends, girl/boyfriends and just leaving that to go back and live in your childhood room makes zero sense.
So people get a job, they find a place to live and eventually move again when careers and family life gets going.

Also, 50% of Swedes live in apartments. That includes families. It's is not uncommon for parents to move to a smaller place once the kids move out. So often there's nothing to move back to anyway.

tell me, when was the last time you did something for your family, your family did something for you and you all worked together for something? give me some actual recent examples
i can give you mine
my second cousin is building a house (got the land cheap from my parents btw) and to save some money the garage is done as "dugnad" if you dont know google it, the meaning and origin of it might shock you. i wasnt even asked to come but i did anyway. you know... family...
i had to get my roof done on my house so through connections (a cousin, again... family) i got the material dirt cheap and i kindly asked anyone who would come for a dugnad this weekend. both parents, brother sister with husband and oldest son came and we went full amish on the roof, ripped it off and buildt a new in 2 days.
my family come from 2 neighbouring farms and most of us live close to it, reaching out as far as second cousins. while only one farm is in full operation today its still a lot of work to maintain the buildings and land and its done as a family thing. when i grew up and we still had livestock the entire family came during summer to help out.
so, what does your family do?

When I was a kid we did I don't remember ever sitting in my friends room while they ate unless I declined the meal which i usually did since i knew i was going to get fed when i got home, so i rather sat and played Tekken 3 or Spyro the dragon while my friend ate.

But then the immigrant came and they can't eat pork (which is a staple of Swedish cooking) so we stopped offering them food since they wouldn't eat it anyway and their dad/uncle/cousin would flip the fuck out when they heard that their kids had been in a household that served pork and suicide bombed out apartments (that's actually what all the bombs are about, but the government is keeping a lid on it, for the "Swedish image")
