I find overly attractive people almost always reflect their privilege on their behavior and become the worst human beings on this planet. They're vapid, narcissistic and generally unlikable. I suppose if some 10 with a soul found me I wouldn't argue against pair bonding with her but the odds of that are basically 0. That goes doubly for men with wealth and upward mobility. Having visible wealth is a breeding ground for gold digging, vapid humans to come bother you.
If you're a piece of shit with no means and a woman still shows interest, your odds aren't perfect, but significantly better.

I realized I never had a chance when I went studying abroad and no women ever bothered to get to know me in that way.
I can still get married, but I decided to do the ethical thing and let no woman suffer my company since clearly no one wants to given the choice. It's sad, but im just going to have to accept the fact that I will spend the rest of my life alone.

The big lie here is that tragically the smart gold diggers play into the "girl next door" thing rather than the full money-whore caricature. It's the same racket, they just hunt after men that are going to make it rather than men that have already made it, it's a better gamble since they get a much more stable position and if you divorce they get a much bigger chunk. At minimum make them sign a prenup, beyond that you look at their actions rather than their words. Most people betray their hand early so ideally you catch it straight away, but with some you have to wait them out. It's hard to create a rulebook for the female path to wealth at your expense since the scenario can expand infinitely in variables and complexity. But observing their actions over their words is a good basic rule. Regardless, love is a risk and when your significant other comes from a gender whose primary weapon is manipulation, it gets complicated.
