>Look up on flyover USA rental prices on the Zillow
>2 bedroom 90m2 old house in a bumfuck nowhere ""city"" with 12,573 population has $1500 monthly rent
>Minimum wage is $2000
Ameribros, how did you reach EU tier prices that fast? How can you live by your own? Do boomers still believe you should live as a independent person by age 18?
You need at least to make $3500-$4000 monthly even for a so called "city" like that and it's impossible with jobs in a rural place.

90 m2 is really small though. Even 1 bedroom 70 m2 ones are expensive. Like $900-1000. And in the metropolitan areas like SF it is probably x2 or x3.

Did you looked to jobs in there? Nobody in rural makes more than $3000 except mechanics or farm-ranch owners. In the cities only skilled jobs make more than $5000. That's why they work in 2 jobs same time now.

seriously what you need that space for? do you breakdance or capoeira at home?
i lived just fine in 48m2 but then again i had both a cellar to fill with stuff, my parents close by to store more stuff including 2 of my 3 cars and i could always drive 5min to my job to do various projects in the workshop there. and i had my parents place and 2 cabins at my disposal for getting away. but for just eating, sleeping, fapping and drinking 48m2 was plentyfull.
i now live in a 200m2 house just sayin.

When you said flyover, I assumed you meant someplace in the Midwest or Great Plains.

Housing prices in the Northern Rocky Mountain region is all kinds of fucked. Within the last 10 years, but especially since COVID, states like Montana and Idaho have seen an influx of wealthy transplants from California and Washington who have driven the real estate market significantly up. In Bozeman (the town right next to Belgrade), real estate prices have increased 63% in the past 5 years. Idaho and Montana lead the country in real estate price increases. It's beautiful, surrounded by valleys and mountains, and politically very different from the West Coast. Popular TV shows like Yellowstone have also driven up demand. This price increase is only in the pretty parts of the state though, like Western Montana (nobody is moving to fucking Glasgow).

While the real estate market across the US has gotten worse, real estate price increases in Western Montana and the northern rockies as a whole are in no way indicative of the rest of the country.

Housing prices in Nebraska are nowhere near as high as they are in Western Montana. Pic related would easily be 2.5x more expensive in Bozeman or Missoula. I don't know where you get off believing that homes in every part of the country are vastly unaffordable

Then why rents are so high if properties cheap?
Also you need to pay 20 years or more for this with Nebraskan wages.(If you living with your family with no expenses it is 7-8 years). If you are not a mechanic, mason, carpenter or welder you can't earn much money in there.

>the only people to vote in local elections or run for council are boomers, so entire counties are managed by a trope of elderly people bent on keeping their assets as pricey as possible
>any younger person that tries to get in doesn't get voted, and if they do, they're up against 20 other council members that are going to outvote them
>private equity outbidding a significant chunk of new home sales
>less home construction going on than 30 years ago, with a bigger population and economy
>home owners trying to sell are okay with taking their time, seems like prices are continually going up so they're never going to settle for lower
the brain likes to single out one or two things as the trigger of something, but there's usually an entire fucking spiderweb of causes and consequences, especially since things like economics are heavily vibes-based
