Did you know that in Austria we normally omit the word gram when talking about weights, we just use the corresponding metric prefix like kilo (or deca) on its own,
so instead of saying I weigh 80 kilograms, you would just say I weigh 80 kilo
or instead of ordering 20 decagrams of a sausage you would just say I want 20 deca of that sausage

I always assumedthat's what everyone (but americans) did. Same thing for milligrams, we just say grams.
