If jews are so good at making movies, why hasn't Israel made anything of note?

Even with the foreign film crowd, they're standing pretty bleak, to the point of absolute radio silence. I've heard of people enjoying 90s Hong Kong cinema, Japanese cinema, Soviet cinema, German Expressionist films from the 1920s, etc, but I've never heard of anyone enjoying Israeli cinema. The language barrier can't be the reason there, because people love and adore foreign subtitled films from all the aforementioned countries.

It can't be that it's nepotism that's responsible for their success in Hollywood and that they're talentless hacks, it can't be that. So what is the reason?

The last part of my post was my usual /pol/ chuddery seethe. But I'm willing to admit they do produce good content in Hollywood. I'd say the pure European arthouse shit is fucking pretentious slop and at least the chosenbrps produce enjoyable flicks. Even the aryan Lynch produced 2deep4u slop. I'll take burger popcorn flicks over Mulholland Drive any day.

But that doesn't explain why Israel itself can't replicate that same success, they have Ashkenazis there, where's the kino?

Israel was a socialist shithole until the late 90s. To have a successful film industry you need a successful business environment.

To boil it down, they freaked out over declining DVD sales, which was their bread and butter and streaming at large. The irony in all of this is that your average consumer is probably spending as much in streaming services as they did with cable, all while most of the content coming out being utter garbage.

They also tried to finance and optimize the entire writing process, which to be blunt, does work to some extent (look at how much the live action vers. of Lilo and Stitch made) but your missing the forest for the trees, i.e. cinema stagnates because studio executives are going by numbers, not artistic vision and potential payoff. All while AI is happening.

Honestly, I think the best case scenario for the current state of Hollywood is that some twenty-something, film school dropout nobody comes out of the woodwork and makes a film or two that blows everybody and everything out of the water with a minimal budget. If that happens it'll basically be shock therapy for the entire industry. And when that happens I'd probably be willing to wager there'd eventually be course-correction.
