I have a bit of an obsession with these countries. They are just so interesting.
I think it's partly because these countries generally aren't talked about in America, many people here have never heard of them, making them seem more mysterious to me.

What is your opinion on the Baltic nations?

Estonia is probably the best managed post soviet state
I don't have anything against Latvia but it seems really boring. If something suddenly wiped it from maps I would probably forget about it after a month.
Lithuania was the last one to Christianised and their language is the most similar to proto indo European so that's interesting and it's funny that they seethe about us while we don't care about them beyond sporadic mentions of PLC.
Overall while they're all pretty funny countries they'll all go extinct due to demography in a hundred years

My old teacher was a soldier that after the fall of the Soviet Union went to Latvia to help train their military and give them old Swedish equipment, he showed us VHS videos he filmed over there and it looked like it was Africa but with snow.
