Profit is the only meaningful measurement for social progress. Price should be the only signal used for communication. In fact, everything should be made to fit for marketization. Line go up indeed good, in my country.

You're partially correct insofar as how capitalism has eroded all "traditional" culture and the very essence of the nation state. This is positive because it interlinks the collective working forces of the globe and homologize humanity. Capitalism, while being a main force behind wars, paradoxically also becomes a main force behind peace. It is the dual nature of capital.
However where I differ is profit being " the only meaningful measurement for social progress ".
Leaving aside the moralistic aspect of it & focusing on the purely mechanical aspect of accumulation, rapid progress under capitalist society coincides when the profit margins are low rather than high, because this means the organic composition of capital is higher relative to the variable capital, in laymen's term, it means all capitalists are investing in machinery rather than in salaries
This is the internal contradiction of capitalism (again, the dual nature of capital!) Too much machinery, too much commodities, instead of being positive, turn into something negative, mass unemployment and destruction of the productive forces follow periods of great prosperity
