yeah i would love to have the French continued developing big cities in my country. The urban planning in Hanoi had been much much better before the commies took control. There are still many old French buildings that stand strong and beautiful, even some French light poles are still in use.

It was the only proper colonies. I think all of the other were protectorates with annam having a bit less autonomy.
Basically the only decent part in that shit empire along with madagascar. The rest were worthless leftovers the brits, portuguese, germans and spaniards didnt want
