Russia is great, Finland should simply become a Russian republic.

From what I've read it's mostly a recent thing, ie Soviet "it's not imperialism when we do it because by definition TRVE socialist states can't do imperialism" meme. Russia basically created modern Finnish nationalism to cuck the Swedes. Tsarist Russia that is. They also still had Karelia while under Tsarist rule (Finland was autonomous). Finns in the Russian army liberated Bulgaria from the Ottomans as well. Much to think about.

Russians definitely don't hate them (as well as many other people who dislike us), and Finns dislike us mostly because of political events, and to a lesser degree because of behavior of some Russians (bydlos).
And what you see online is just politically obsessed strongly pro-government Russians, they usually hate "butthurt belters".
