I remember a friend telling me Koreans used to go to no-name Canadian degree mill colleges for degrees because they were seen as more esteemed. They were essentially the jeets of the time but way less of them and actually returned to their country after finishing. However these days no on one Korea values these useless degrees. Same thing is happening with Chinese students.
