>Alaska
I'd say isn't especially different than Norway, except a lot more foreigners. When I visited I fairly surprised to see so many foreigners, but at least they were the "better" kind. Koreans, Japanese, Russians, the occasional Euro—the common theme with all of them though is that they all seem like misfits in a way that's sort of hard to describe. Just seeking solitude and peace at the edge of the world. Alaska is a weird place

>Montana or Idaho, maybe even Wyoming o algo
God I hate how much these states are brought up by foreigners. People only hype them up because few people live there and associate them with anything negative. They don’t even associate them with Yellowstone or Tetons, they just see the 3 states together on a map and think “wowee so heckin wholesome.” It’s really not that great I assure you and if I find you here I will dump your body in a hot pot.

I mean, if we're being genuine here, it could be. There's definitely a lot of interesting characters there. I met a guy there who used to work as a software engineer during the peak of Silicon Valley; gave it all and worked as a fisherman. Met a Japanese guy that I suspect (probably) was Yakuza since he was covered in tattoos and a bit older working at the ports.

Alaska is definitely something interesting

This nigga ain’t white by the way. His seething is due to being unable to live a normal and peaceful life. If he is not in a city with a gay bar and advertisement every 10 feet he cannot function properly

Not that anon, but Wyoming and lots of Montana especially out east can be maddeningly boring since it's all prairie. There isn't much to do and jobs are especially abundant like they are in other elsewhere in the country. The fags there are also pretty staunch to anyone moving there too, so you kind of have to prove yourself. Politics is probably the biggest issue, and they aren't afraid of beating you up or committing vandalism if you're obnoxious. Happens all the time with the Californians.

I'm from Oklahoma and grew up in a similar political space and mindset, so there wasn't much issue. Still, think being a upstanding character is what matters most

I prefer plains over mountains it's better for storm chasing. Mountains get boring after a while. I like to see big skies and storms in the distance

It’s that there isn't actually all that much to write home about except for the few natural beauty tourist attractions. If you live there you know it’s mostly an endless expanse of tundra for as far as the eye can see. I like it for my own personal reasons (mormon heritage and family history) but it’s incredibly overrated by foreigners who just like it because they have this minds eye of what it must contain but leave Plato’s cave and you’ll be disappointed. It’s really not that different from other states and when hearing and reading always those 3 states: Wyoming Montana and Idaho over and over as if they have anything to do with themselves really beyond Yellowstone it makes me want to lobotomize you but I doubt that would change anything. Watch napoleon dynamite if you want the best case scenario for daily life in this part of intermountain west.

To be fair, that's easy to say when you live in a place where jobs with decent pay is common. Wouldn't be surprised if minimum wage in those states are still at the federal level at $7.25, which is laughable if it weren't for the fact that's all that's available there if you don't have any marketable skills
