can someone explain what the deal is with gypsys/romani to me? from what i gather, they have lived in europe for 500 years, but do not assimilate into european culture and still live like africans into the modern day. why are they like this exactly? why not just be normal?

I only know that they kill, rape, rob, scam and pickpocket and that's all that matters to me
