I don't believe that someone from the Czech republic has a higher standard of living than someone from New Zealand.

I also don't believe that the margin is about the same as comparing someone from the UK to someone from Lithuania.

The average Japanese farmer/ villager lives like the top 20-30% of the richest rural villager Croats. Large cities, especially Tokyo, are on a whole other level not just compared to Croatia but compared to any East Euro country.

It's kinda sad that Japan's slipped so much in the past 20 years. I visited the country in 2007 and saw there was still innovation despite the economic malaise of the lost generation in the 90's and 00's.
