The US dollar lost 10% of its value against the pound since the start of the year. Meaning the difference in GDP per capita between America and Britain got 10% smaller. A weaker American dollar is good for the rest of the world.

Eh that's not really how currencies or GDP work.

That being said, its amazing how resilient our economy is considering we're being run by our version of Peronists

Problem is even if we get through this unscathed as we are currently, our voters will not learn their lesson, and one of our parties is a populist party promoting economically illiterate policies.

Best hope is that conservatives lead by Kemp or Youngkin retake the Republican Party in 2032.

Which countries are begging for tariff exemptions, besides Canada and the UK? The EU and China can weather Trump’s tariffs, actually his tariffs will damage America more than any other country.

It's foolish to put your money in your own country. If shit hits the fan in your country, you'll lose everything. If you had invested elsewhere, you'd still have your investments.

Not for those that sell a lot to the US and store insane amounts of dollars (like China)

But yeah for us here in EVROPA is obviously based and redpilled.

I don't think he'll actually go through with it but Trump is a minute away from getting rid of the head of the federal reserve what's his face. They're facing inflation and the natural response is obviously to increase interest rates. That makes Trump look bad and he's been very vocal about them better not going through with it. One step away from erdoganomics currently >>212280596

>Trump is a minute away from getting rid of the head of the federal reserve
He doesn't have the power to do that. He can appoint a new head once Powell's term expires.

However, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve doesn't have unilateral authority to lower interest rates, they have to have the consent of the Board of Governors. So even if he does get Powell replaced with some idiot, they wouldn't be able to lower rates unless the Board of Governors agreed. Most likely he'll be replaced by Bessent, and Bessent is smart and would probably be fine as Federal Reserve chairman he's just pretending to be dumb so he doesn't make Trump upset.
