Why did they fail?

The USA succeeded, why didn't they triumph too?

Also, Brazil kinda sucks for colonizing besides the coast, it was further away from most european immigrats than america, and it didn't have a "california" or "mormons" to help extend its state influence beyond the east.

Their golden age was right after Europe decided to commit suicide with two world wars and USA simply filled the gap.
Now they are decaying, and someone else will take the spotlight.

Brazil is a large plantation set to service a small elite of landowners. In this sense it's been undeniably successful.

Every attempt to overcome this original sin has been a failure. Brazil has never surpassed social divisions, has never democratized access to land, failed to properly industrialize, failed to root out corruption and patrimonialism, failed to become the great power it should have been.

The prime cause, but not the only one, of all this tragedy is that the Brazilian elites are extraordinarily perverse, treasonous and often degenerate. Only a handful of statesmen have ever put their personal inerests aside in order to improve the country, and many of them were scorned and died in poverty.

The Brazilian elite has no enduring design for the country and the part of it that is capable of reading and thinking limits itself to following trends from Europe and the US in an automatic fashion, without trying to adapt them to a Brazilian environment. They're a scum.

The Puritans who settled New England for once were among the most highly educated people in the world. In other regions outside the south the early settlers constituted a society of small landowners with a relatively democratic political culture. One of the early precedents of modern constitutions were the charters that the settlers of the Thirteen Colonies established among themselves. The WASP elite had no lack of inspired people willing to serve the nation. Many of them voluntarily fought in the Civil War, WWI and WWII, while the Brazilian elite sent their slaves instead to fight in the Plate. On top of that the WASPs never had the type of hegemonic power exercised by the Brazilian elite over other classes, not even in the American South. Just remember that in Brazil one family alone (Garcia d'Ávila) had holdings with a combined size larger than Portual itself.

In the south they were. In the north however the very nature of the land made these plantations impossible.

Calling Brazil a "portuguese colony" is confusing.
It is not Portuguese based on the matrix of the settlers, but of ownership.
Portugal during that period had 2 million population at maximum.
During that period, Portugal imported 4 million western africans into Brazil.
Even if EVERY SINGLE Portuguese in the world migrated into Brazil, it would still be a series of colonies of western africans.
Brazil is more comparable to the southern states of the US than comparable to the entirety of the USA.

The USA had two origins of settlers. European migration and slaver/slaves.
The government of the USA originates in European migration mostly, not slaver/slaves. Their independence was fought for and by the people.

By contrast Brazil was (and to some extent still is) an assemblage of plantation owners and slaves. These owners of property were the ones driving Brazilian independence, and quickly came to blows with their own "emperors" who they only needed for a legitimate claim for an independent state. But when it quickly became apparent that monarchs weren't needed, they did away with both of their "emperors" very fast. The sins of their "emperors" was nothing more than trying to turn Brazil into an actual country (both were Frenchboos), instead of just a big plantation.

Now imagine if the south and seceded, what kind of country would it be? Just look at it now for inspiration.

It was in fact a big plantation but also a settlement colony, it really depends on each part of the country we are taking into consideration, São Paulo at that time was famously known for being self sustaining and having a bad climate for sugarcane, but still it thrived.

Neocolonialism. Corporate America basically colonised the rest of the planet first and the rest is history.
It’s funny hmm, you frenchoid fucks just happened to be born at the side where American taxpayers allowed u a piece of the pie, yet you feel the need to make fun of Brazil, fucking shithead. Good riddance becoming a neo Islamic state.
