Hark mateys, I be needin' some knowledge from ye.

I got into The University of Vienna for a Master's program, but I am not sure if it is the right choice to go, I have some questions and concerns.

First, will I be able to make friends and have a good social life there as an American who does not speak German (I plan on taking lessons once I am in Vienna, but it'll take time to get decent fluency).

Second, is the nightlife in Vienna good such as bars, clubs etc. Please compare it to cities like Berlin, Barcelona, Prague, and others like those.

Third, what is a good budget for living in Vienna as a student? The UVienna website says 1200-1230 euros a month. Is that accurate?

Fourth, would I be able to get a job as a bartender in Vienna if I don't have a great grasp of German yet? What about in very touristy areas? If so, what does bartending generally pay there?

Finally, what are some things YOU'D like to be told if you were in my position. Please note, that "fuck of we're full" is not a proper response to this thread.

Generally Vienna is probably one of the best cities to live in Europe still, and also feels most European and "trad" out of all former imperial capitals.
