Why did we stop colonialism?
Cuz the world was at war with g*rmans again and colonies cost money to maintain.
I don't think Finns did it, much less end it
>we
Name two Finnish colonies
We didn't. We pretended to stop colonialism because it proved more profitable to have our colonies de-jure independent while being de-facto puppet states.
Neo-colonialism is more subtle and financially-based rather than the overt military colonialism in the past. Although we still do militarily intervene whenever these countries try to actually become independent and they go too far off the leash.
We just call them dictatorships and then justify it by saying we're bringing them freedom and democracy or something when we're really just reining them back in.
