There is this constant dichotomy in history of wild meat-eating barbarians vs city-dwelling sedentary agriculturalists. Turns out the so-called barbarians were actually more civilized and sane because they had breathing space and lived close to nature, basically a society where its impossible to get mentally ill and traditions are maintained for hundreds of thousands of years.
