I just learned this is a thing, I've been using the same bathrobe to dry myself off for the last 8 or so years and I just wash it once in a while. It seems so wasteful to keep buying new towels to dry off every week or so, seems psychotic.

Think people are fucking disgusting in general. It's a subtle distinction of degree. It's not shit you admit.

why do you keep talking about buying new towels
you do realize towels are made of cloth and can be cleaned in a washing machine?

im talking about people REPLACING their towels, as in BUYING a BRAND NEW set of towels every week, not just rotating between a couple long held towels

it's probably every couple of weeks to a month.
and even then I'm cold washing it with my clothes so it's not the most hygienic.

Nah 60° and bleach will do the trick. Also new stuff is just of worse quality than old stuff. The fabric's lighter, the seams are loose etc. and I'm talking the same label here
