I get really annoyed when I see news headlines like “Extreme heat around the world.” Why? Because they only ever mention the temperature. For example, I saw a report saying it was 46°C in Spain, so I looked up the humidity—and it was only 40%. Seriously? Are they kidding?

Even if Europe is supposedly “boiling,” if the humidity’s low, it’s actually manageable.

So yeah, I’m officially done with these so-called “heatwave” reports that ignore humidity. I won’t be taking them seriously anymore.

Most of those temperature reports aren't accurate anyway.

i look at the measured temperature and then the derived 'perceived temperature' which accounts for humidity and wind speed etc. it's not perfect, but good enough.
anecdote> here it is ~90% humidity and 25C feels the same as 40C in some southern country with very low humidity

In Japan, it's “just a little hot.”
It's about the third hottest out of five.
