Is it awesome, even with the downsides? Because I keep hearing negative things and I think it might be all BS and you guys are having a blast. Serious question. I'm a third worlder.

It's okay.
It's the third world of the first world, I think, in terms of living conditions.
People randomly berate me personally for things a vast global empire out of my control is doing too, which is annoying but whatever.

It's so strange that you live in the greatest country on the planet and you're like "whatever". The grass really is always greener, may God help us all.

Which state are you from?

Kansas.
It's Midwestern, which means you're obligated by the culture here to romanticize ditching this place one day for anywhere else.
All our culture outputs (Wizard of Oz, Midwest Emo, for example) are about this.
I live in hell.

That happens everywhere though. I once had an American guy lecture me on Sweden while a hobo was taking a piss outside in the backwoods where I live.

It's cool. It has a "comfy" feel even if it's not the most advanced or safe. Europe feels too synthetic.
by the way, I live in Los Angeles, California.

Anything you could say about America is true. It is a huge country with vast differences in how people live, and what they do. I will say that as a middle-class American, I realize that I have lived very well and had fantastic opportunities for fun, and good living that I didn't properly appreciate and take advantage of until I lived abroad in Germany for two years. Your hand is held a lot less by the government in the USA, but if you take initiative and do your best to socialize, and have adventures in the USA, you can live a wonderful life.

That being said, there are MANY problems in the USA, that are absolutely present and noticeable. Overall, I would rank living in the USA as above average, and if could be WELL above average depending on who you are as a person.

Nice of Germany to become the target for that stuff. Thought it was a stereotype about us before I came here.

Most of the issues in the country stem from mass importation of third worlders since the 1965 immigration act, as the country was ~90% white until then. Hopefully trump or someone else will get serious someday and return the nation back to what the founding fathers intendeds
