Because they don't matter to the endpoint. Aegon and Jon are probably killed by Dany when she takes KG, and everything after that was supposed to be mostly the same

And you're too dumb to understand that they just ignored that and made the ending as it was supposed to be while cutting the reasons it ended that way, like Stannis burning his daughter out of nowhere. Just because the development is missing doesn't mean the conclusion has to be different

And everyone hated the last season because things happened for seemingly no reason, like Daenerys turning crazy. The reasons were obvious, they wanted to end up where George told them it ended but didn't have the material to get there nor the talent or will to stir it there themselves

it's weird to think about what insane staying power certain books and shows have.

I completely forgot that breaking bad actually came out in the late 2000s and that teachers were talking about it at my middle school, because there was a huge resurgence in popularity among 2020s zoomers

It's also because there has been a large decline, and over saturation, in the quality of media. I can't think of any show really like breaking bad/game of thrones in the last 5 years that had people coming into work, schools etc to talk about it with other people. Now everything is on some shitty subscription service, there is 2-3 years between a season, episodes and seasons are shorter etc. It's just grim.

>there is 2-3 years between a season

This is one the big reasons why no one gives a shit. In the golden era of tv one big season came out every year. Now you have to wait three for a short one. It's the same with anime, you lose interest eventually.

Everyone hated the rushed execution. Same ending but with more episodes (and less retarded decisions e.g. fighting the night king army outside of castle walls) would be received much better.

he only revealed key plot points and told them to fill the gap between them. also, there are entire plot lines that were either completely left out of the show or they were merged together to save up screen time, because the two kike directors wanted to wrap things up so they could focus on their new live action SW show, which was scrapped later on. then the show went down in flames, Martin's reputation went down the shitter and he realized there'd be no point of finishing the books, because people hate his franchise so much that he could never realistically salvage his reputation, so he scrapped the two remaining two books and distanced himself from the entire thing.

idk i think the world is going through a difficult time
it's hard to tell compelling stories
things went majorly south around 2007, basically when we all moved our lives online for the most part. and obviously culture war stuff.

there will always be good movies. Heretic was a perfect example of that. No matter how fucked up the world gets, you just put a good actor like Hugh Grant in a room, pair him with a silver tongued screenwriter, and something good will come out of it.

but TV shows that marshal up an entire society, idk, just doesn't seem possible anymore. we're too diverse.

the ending was deliberately rushed, because they knew people were fed up with GoT, but they had a contract for making 8 seasons and they had to deliver the ending before they could focus on their much awaited live action Star Wars series. remember, it was before 2020, before Disney started shitting out dime a dozen shitty Star Wars shows and people, including Steinberg and Bergstein, were really excited about writing history by directing a live action SW series. they wanted to be free of HBO's contract fast, so they shat out two sloppy seasons, told everyone to fuck off, then rushed to Disney to make their epic space wizard show. turns out Disney wasn't impressed with their work on GoT either, so they were told to fuck off. they squandered the legacy of GoT and Martin because they were greedy jews who wanted to milk the SW brand the same way they did GoT.
