Not really, it's mostly savanna actually. But early immigrant colonies were built in proximity to stablished settlements or navigable rivers then spread out as self-supporting communities. Those people went mostly to the South and Southeast where you have grassland valleys and hills and marshes, plenty of tropical forests still but it's not the amazon.
