I remember as a kid being creeped out by people obsessed with mission trips at my Christian church, it was just like this. Show up, take lots of pics, feel great about yourself, go home and brag about rubbing shoulders with the dirty global poor. I went on one once to Mexico just to accompany my dad and was committed to actually doing something real while I was there so I just straight labored for 6 days.
