Yes but that was because of the black death that wiped out 2/3 of the population and the fact that we had a very sparsely populated country. We were the most powerful, sophisitcated and advanced society during the medieval age. Norwegian is still Norwegian but it got a lot of Danish influence in the east

We like Norway. not really envious except nature. Norway has much more interesting nature than Denmark, here's its mostly flat farmland outside the cities and boring except if you know the interesting spots
