New Mexico is saved by reservations. A lot of amazing places on reservation land that would be over-touristed to hell if it was "National Historic Site" this and "National Park" that.

Santa fe is really cool. All the buildings are pueblo revival styles. It punches WAY above it's weight as an art city. It has the best folk art museum in the entire world and that's like the 3rd most popular art museum there not to mention all the art galleries you can just pop into. Lots of fun outdoors stuff nearby. Food is amazing. Native stuff like Puye is on a rez nearby tacoma pueblo not far and they have sky city (oldest continuously inhabited settlement in the Americas maybe 2nd if you think Oraibi in Navajo, but sky city is cooler it's on a plateau), lots of old spanish churches and missions etc.

>Colorado or Florida
No way lol. Colorado is cookie cutter inter-mountain west. And it's not even the weirdest inter-mountain west state.

Florida I can sort of see because culturally it's very distinct from the south and the country at large. It's got it's own sort of Gulf/Caribbean/Redneck fusion going on. But I wouldn't say it's as weird as New Mexico. Maybe if Florida was flying more under the radar like NM is it could be up there.

They're pretty cool. They remind me of a mix of Sagrada Familia + Fonthill Castle (weird mansion built by a guy obsessed with folk art and textiles in PA you can look it up it's pretty cool especially the interior)

I live on virgin Islands saint John
It's 80 Jamaican, Bahamian and Dominican girls ages to 40. Random billionaires pull up in yatches or at resorts. My neighborhood isn't technically there on maps.
Random leaders from Russia, China, Iran, Hamas, show up to do money laundering.
Epstein Island is real close. He and Trump were regulars when they wanted over to a larger island.
People forget we exist.

The islands. They're badly connected to the continent, most have no bridges, some places have a ferry only once a week. Because of this, they are weird, isolationist and borderline anarchic. They're like real world Telvanni. The smaller the island, the kookier the people.

>some continental dude starts a business on the island, tries introducing paid parking on the land he owns around the business
>locals rip off the sign and ticket machine and throw it into the sea and park anyway
>there's no tow service available on the island
>he puts another one
>goes straight into the sea
>continental dude calls cops, they don't bother coming because if they do the entire island will swear on their mother's life that the continental dude did it himself
>continental dude gives up, closes the business and never steps foot on an island again

hard to say, Nunavut is a good answer because the entire territory is nothing but Inuits and military bases
