There are two types of Israel supporters.

The liberal: a very shallow understanding (like all liberals), considers all neighboring muslim countries as authoritarian/too unfriendly for his liberal ideas, despite countries such as Qatar or Saudi Arabia being more capitalist-driven than Israel.

The reactionary: their support of israel is due to the next syllogism; if leftism as a whole supports the national liberation of palestinians, then I must support Israel. But besides this syllogism theres also the fact that he likes the dynamic of violence and power that israel displays against those it consider as enemies, which they would (and are) emulate in their homelands
